Hoi An dikenali sebagai salah satu World Heritage Site oleh UNESCO.
"Hoi An, once known as Faifo, with more than 2,000 years history, was the principal port of the Cham Kingdom, which controlled the strategic spice trade with Indonesia from the 7th to the 10th century and was a major international port in the 16th and 17th centuries - and the foreign influences are discernible to this day.source from wikitravel.

Vietnam - visiting ancient city Part 2

3-hours Train ride from Hue back to Da Nang

sambungan dari --> Vietnam - visiting ancient city Part 1

setelah selesai menjelajah bandar Hue, kami pulang ke hotel, pack barang dan terus menuju train stesen Hue. Destinasi berikutnya adalah Hoi An. Tapi train yang kami naik ni cuma sampai Danang. So dari Danang kami naik bas ke Hoi An.

Pemandangan memang superb,

"Experience the ‘Reunification Express' and the most magical part of the whole Hanoi to Saigon train journey is the wonderfully scenic section along the cost between Hué and Danang.  The train snakes at slow speed past beaches, islands and rocky jungle-covered cliffs, then heads through the hills over the lush green Hai Van Pass to reach Danang.  In the bright Vietnamese sun, the vivid blue skies, green waters and yellow beaches will take your breath away. You get a real insight into Vietnam when you travel by train, both urban and rural, which you don't get from 35,000 feet.  And if you're good at people watching you'll get insights on board the train, too, as the 'real' Vietnam is as much inside the train as outside. Vietnam - visiting ancient city Part 1

it was fun.

Date : 20 - 23 January 2012

it was 7.40 am. from KL to Danang
Ga Danang - Danang Train Station. looking for train ticket from Danang to Hue
Time kami p ni, nak dekat Chinese New Year, so orang memang banyak gila kat train station. sampai ja kat Danang, kami terus ke Train Station Danang. nak cari tiket ke Hue. Memandangkan dah nak raya Cina, semua tiket train untuk hari tu sold out. Jadi kami naik van ja ke Hue. Sampai Hue lebih kurang pukul 3p.m. Terus check in kat Binh Doung hotel (around USD30 per nite)

Binh Doung hotel

Kalau ke Hue, try la makan dekat Mandarin Cafe. Owner dia, Mr Cu merupakan Photographer. Banyak gambar2 yang dia snap tegantung kat wall restoran. Jangan lupa try Banana pancake dia. Memang ramai org cakap sedap.

Good Morning Hue. ala2 autumn pulak.
Esoknya, awal2 dah bangun. nak pusing bandar Hue.
" The grounds of the Imperial City were surrounded by a wall 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers, and the walls were surrounded by a moat. The water from the moat was taken from the Huong River (Perfume River) that flows through Huế. This structure is called the citadel. Inside the citadel was the Imperial City, with a perimeter of almost 2.5 kilometers. Inside the Imperial City was the imperial enclosure called the Purple Forbidden City in Vietnamese, a term similar to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The enclosure was reserved for the Nguyễn imperial family.
The citadel was oriented to face the Huong River to the east. This was different from the Forbidden City in Beijing, which faces south. The Emperor's palace is on the east side of the citadel, nearest the river. A second set of walls and a second moat was constructed around the Emperor's palace. Many more palaces and gates and courtyards and gardens were subsequently added. The rule of the last Vietnamese Emperor lasted until the mid-1900s. At the time, the Purple Forbidden City had many buildings and hundreds of rooms. It suffered from termite and cyclone damage, but was still very impressive. Many bullet holes left over from the war can be observed on the stone walls. In June 1802 Nguyễn Phúc Ánh took control of Vietnam and proclaimed himself Emperor Gia Long. His rule was recognized by China in 1804. Gia Long confided with geomancers to decide which was the best place for a new palace and citadel to be built. After the geomancers had decided on a suitable site in Huế, building began in 1804. Thousands of workers were ordered to produce a wall and moat, 10 kilometers long. Initially the walls were earthen, but later these earthen walls were replaced by stone walls, 2 meters thick. "  source from wikipedia

Unplanned trip to koh Lanta

Trip ni pada 14 June 2012,  hari Khamis. Tetiba ja terbuat trip p koh lanta. Sepatutnya nak p Koh Lanta tu end of this month time besday saya. Tapi tetiba trip ni diawalkan.

Hotel dah book guna groupon. So tak yah bayar apa-apa. Just call inform hotel tu yg nak p on 15 June.

Mula-mula ingat nak stay kat mana2 dulu before trus ke Koh Lanta. Tapi last2 Khamis after keja trus gerak direct p Koh Lanta.

Gerak from border kul 4p.m sampai Lanta Resort( hotel kami stay) lbh kurang kul 9p.m. so perjalanan ambik masa lebih kurang 5 jam.
jalan dia senang ja. Tak pusing2 sgt2. Tapi kena naik ferry 2 kali.
  1. first ferry from mainland (hua hin pier) to Koh Lanta Noi( pulau kecik).
  2.  second ferry from Koh Lanta Noi to Koh Lanta Yai.

Time kami p ni low season sbb local people kata time tu monsoon. Org yg kat hotel tu pon cakap mcm tu. last week ( a week b4 we went there) hujan ja everyday. Alhamdulillah time kami kat sana cerah setiap masa.

Kami stay kat Lanta resort. Hotel tu sangat cantik. Ada pool excess deluxe room. Kluar bilik trus terjun pool ja..
Memandangkan kami p time low season, so hrga bilik mmg sangat2 murah. harga asl bilik kami stay tu kalo peak season THB5800 = RM580. Tapi time kami p tu hrga dia RM150 ja.. so sgt murah. kami stay sana 4d3m.

Koh Lanta tu dlm daerah krabi.

kat sana, boleh sewa motor utk pusing2 pulau. harga dia THB200 per day.

kesimpulannya trip ni mmg best n rileks :)
